Part Two: Team Sharp 16U Girl’s Basketball Dices the AAU Competition; 4 Players august 3, 2021 by jdelpriore1, posted in high school basketball, high school girls basketball, sports Team Sharp 16U posted a 41-8 record against tough national competition, helping the players turn heads and give them future hoops hope. Here is a look at four high school/AAU hoopers on the celebrated program run by Head Coach Michelle Sharp. Faith Robinson — 2024 Robinson is a 5-foot-11 rising sophomore forward/guard at Newark Central High School, where she drained 159 points, collected 147 boards, rejected 48 shots, and made 41 steals in 12 contests in the 2020-21 campaign. Due to her size, Robinson is aggressive and can impose her will around the hoop, and she will have a few more years to grow and get stronger. Additionally, Robinson possesses a high-energy motor, and plays a fierce defensive, with a propensity to clog the paint, change the course of shots, and send the basketball into orbit when an offensive player thinks she has a chance at a bucket. Te’Yala Delfosse — 2024 Delfosse is the perfect compliant to Robinson. She is long, athletic, and finishes well under the basket. In fact, she rebounds so well that teammates should call her Windex, for her proficient ability to clean the glass and give her squads second and third opportunities to score. Katie Rausch — 2023 Rausch, a bonafide sniper, shot 20-42 from the floor for a remarkable 47-percent made attempts in a late July tournament, as she played in 11 contests. Rausch, a rising junior at South Brunswick High School, enjoyed a solid statistical season, dropping in 166 points, grabbing 22 boards, dishing out 22 assists, and making 15 thefts in 14 tilts this past season. She also poured in 236 points and snatched 83 rebounds as a freshman. Nia Clemmons — 2023 Clemmons saw a marked improvement in her two-year high school career, from scoring 8.25 points per game (25) as a freshman to 12.2 ppg as a sophomore (15) at Roselle Catholic High School. She also plucked a total of 277 rebounds in 40 contests over a two-year period. As the above stats indicate, Clemmons is an ever-improving player, with the skill to light up the stat sheet on any given day or night. — Jerry Del Priore (Photo: Head Coach Michelle Sharp of Team Sharp).
